Through our FIT program, your student's tuition rate and your family's capital fee is determined by several factors, including your family's demonstrated need. We partner with FACTS, an independent third party, to assist with need determinations. Students in grades TK - 12 are eligible to be considered for FIT.

A Customized Tuition Solution FIT for Your Family
FACTS Need Determination

To be considered for FIT, submit an application for your family through FACTS' Grant & Aid software, along with any requested documentation and the $35 non-refundable fee. If there are circumstances that have recently changed or you wish to explain in further detail, FACTS provides a comment section for you, as well as a section to upload optional documentation.

Once your family's application is submitted in full, FACTS will process it to determine need and will then send it to us for review. From the time your application and all requested documentation is submitted, it takes an average of 2-4 weeks to receive a response.

-
When can I apply? Is there a deadline?Applications for the upcoming school year open on December 1st and will remain open as long as funding is available. We recommend submitting a completed FIT application for returning students by April 30th each year and new students during the admissions process.
-
What information is needed to apply for FIT?FACTS will collect documentation such as W2's and tax returns from each applicant. Should you wish to receive your FIT rate before enrolling, please plan accordingly to have your taxes filed prior to applying. If additional documentation is needed, FACTS and/or MACS will notify you via email.
-
When can I expect a response on my FIT application?Once an application is complete, FACTS will process the application, which can take 2-4 weeks. Once FACTS has processed the application, it then be reviewed by MACS and determinations will be sent via email. Please note that a student must be accepted to a MACS school in order to receive a FIT determination.
-
How is FIT determined?Determinations are based on a family's demonstrated need and considers a family's income, certain assets and expenses, MACS full tuition rates, and the availability of funds for FIT. Before determinations are emailed to families, applications are reviewed by the MACS tuition assistance committee to consider special circumstances. While we strive to help as many families as possible, not all families will qualify for reduced tuition through FIT.
-
I have additional questions about FIT. Who can I contact? Please contact the MACS Business Office team - we'd be happy to help! Email: macsbilling@rcdoc.org Phone: (704) 370-3265
-
Does FIT cover 100% of tuition? Are there fees not covered by FIT?FIT is designed to offer families a tuition rate that matches their individual circumstances. Although we strive to meet a family's need as much as possible, all families contribute an amount toward tuition. In addition, application fees, registration fees, FACTS fees, and optional items such as band, transportation, and the After-School Enrichment Program are not eligible for FIT rates.
-
Do I need to reapply for FIT each year?Yes, as circumstances change from year to year, such as a family's household size or income, as well as the amount of funds available for FIT, families will need to submit an application each year.
-
How is my FIT rate billing handled?Mecklenburg Area Catholic schools offers several different payment plans, including monthly payment options and families utilize FACTS Tuition Management for automatic payments. More information on this is included in your enrollment email. Families may also be eligible to use funds from their child's 529 plan for MACS K-12 tuition.
